Is this the future of quick and efficient travel in the 21st Century. Overmacht railway station in Utrecht has become the first railway station in the world to install the ‘transfer accelerator’, which is hoped to cut passenger congestion at the station.
Designed by HIK Ontwerpers the ‘transfer accelerator’ more commonly known as a 'slide' has been strategically positioned next the new stairway to allow the commuter who are in a real hurry to get to the railway track as quickly as possible.
Will this start a revolution in how we travel? Will this be the end of slow queues on escalators in London? If it is then we can guarantee that itmsoil will be up to the challenge.
